LEAT works both in an application- and basic research-oriented manner. Typical funding sources include DFG, EU, BMBF, BMWK, and industrial clients.

DFG:

• Oxyfuel combustion of biomass – SFB/TRR 129
• Gas-permeated moving chemically reacting packed beds of thermally thick particles – SFB/TRR 287

IGF-BMWK:

• Cement and lime burning process, use of SRF, hydrogen, and ammonia
• Pellet transport, pellet breakage, pellet combustion
• Spray roasting of metal chlorides

BMBF:

• Utilization of blast furnace gases for chemical production

EU:

• Direct iron ore reduction with H2
